Drawing the ‘everyday’
With this work I explore the tension between the representational surface and the real world, and the visual illusion generated by the interplay of the two perceptual experiences. I investigate materials’ shapes and textures to explore the oscillation between two and three dimensional. I question the nature of a drawing being a representation of a 3D object whilst at the same time acknowledging the reality of a drawing as a 2D surface. The drawings appear as an object suspended in space and one can feel that something has happened or is about to happen. Time is the fourth dimension in this work.
